Planning a Bachelor Party to Remember in Dallas

by Sr. Editor on September 10, 2008

It happens to the best of ‘em – the time comes for the “single” man to become the “married” man. If you happen to be a good friend of a soon-to-be groom, you may be put in charge of the poor guy’s last big hoorah in the single world – the bachelor party.

If you have been designated the planner of this shin-dig, but don’t have a party planning bone in your body – don’t panic. There are plenty of options for places to go in close proximity to Dallas apartments. For planning a memorable bachelor party in Dallas, remember the acronym B-D-A and follow through with these tips:

B is for Before.

Although you might not feel like bachelor party planning is your strong suit – pre-determining what will happen during a bachelor party is the key to its success. Imagine if you decided to start the bachelor party at a random restaurant (Reservations? Who needs reservations?) and decided to play the rest of the night by ear.

Generally, disaster would occur, or at the very best an extremely forgettable bachelor party.

So take the time to plan. Ask the groom if he has any preferences for entertainment. Ask if he wants to go out on the town in Dallas or stay closer to home. Of course, the best part of bachelor parties is surprising the groom with the unexpected, so don’t reveal your final plans.

One big no-no is having the bachelor party the day or even two days before the wedding. This can be bad – and you want the groom recovered enough from his big night to enjoy the big day. And as for getting the word out — be sure to send out invitations at least three to four weeks before the party.

D is for During.

You need to plan what you are going to do during this bachelor party. Many bachelor parties revolve loosely around themes. For example, if the groom is an avid Texas Rangers fan, plan an outing to the ballpark.

Catching a game, playing a round of golf or even going to the batting cages and then going out after has the makings of a perfect bachelor party.

Keeping the groom’s personality in mind is a sure-fire way to host a successful party. If the guy just wants to go on a fishing trip with his buddies and copious amounts of beer, plan the trip. Of course, just because you don’t end up at a racy night club doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to be embarrassed. A variety of stores in the Dallas area offer party supplies and bachelor party games – you can easily find items that will be sure to make the groom turn red.

If you are looking for bachelor party ideas and games to play, there are great websites that will help. You can find information and rules on everything from drinking games to poker to a good old fashioned pub crawl.

Near Dallas apartments, there are many different restaurants and night clubs to go out for a good time. For good, clean fun, Dave and Busters is a restaurant with over 200 games, from old-fashioned classics to state-of-the-art interactive video games. Of course, Dallas has plenty of venues for slightly more risqué fun – just remember not to get your groom in too much trouble with his fiancée.

A is for After.

This is probably your biggest responsibility as a bachelor party host and planner — making sure that everyone has a safe ride home. Whether you rent limos, call cabs or designate drivers – make sure the entire party makes it through the night safe and sound.

There are plenty of resources for bachelor parties and ideas to make your friend’s party as memorable as possible. Don’t worry – following the rules of B-D-A will ensure that you’ll throw your buddy a bachelor party he’ll never forget.
